It is the Vernal Equinox. A time of flux, of lengthening days, of growth, and of preparation for a future harvest.

Right now we are busy preparing not one, but two Deathday titles for release on vinyl: Their split 12″ EP with Bestial Mouths (out next week!), and next month, their long-awaited LP (previously released only on limited edition cassette). Both are collaborative releases with our French label-friends, desire. UPDATE: The Bestial Mouths / Deathday split is now shipping, and Deathday’s LP (on black-speckled grey vinyl) is now available to pre-order in our shop.

This Spring also sees us starting to gather submissions for our next two volumes in our “A Compilation” cassette series, documenting the current wave of synth artists by locale – this time looking at Texas, and our own current home, Los Angeles. what began as a simple idea – Josh “Black Dog” Beck & Remy “the Restless” Marc playing a bunch of post punk, no wave, synth, and punk records in a tiny bar – has evolved into one of the most interesting cult music nights in Portland. SICK JAGGERS play basically ANYTHING dark and danceable. punk, house, 80s funk, EBM, 90s R&B, minimal synth, industrial, goth, no wave…. the list is as endless as the night.

for over a year they’ve been curating a monthly party at East End featuring some of the darkest underground experimental dance music; releasing periodic mixes; and taking their dark, damp NW sound outward, with dates on both coasts, Mexico, and China.
